I met my husband in Peru ( I am Peruvian Canadian myself) in Sept 2006. He was friend of a friend. Since I was in Peru to have fun and relax, I invited all the friends of friends, as possible LOL. One of them was him. And it was love at first sight, which had never happened to me or him before and I am 34.

We were together 2 magical weeks, then I came back to Toronto with my young daughter (from another marriage) because she had to start her school. Then I went back to Lima, Peru, Three weeks AFTER. (talk about crazy times!) and the rest was history as they say. I went back to see him every 3-4 months. Until March 2008 when he came to Toronto on a Visitor's Visa. And now he will be getting his PR next week;)

Hello Krisa:

Finding out who you are gonna marry on your engagement party sounds terribly exciting AND terrifying at the same time. How was it to you? Also if anyone else had this same experience I would love love love to know how this is for you. Thanks.

I met my husband on an online yahoo pool game in 2003. We talked on a messenger for a couple years and ended up falling for eachother :) In 2006, I went to Canada to meet him in person. We take a few trips throughout the year. Married and began the immigration process in 2008.

Same in my case. I met my husband about 10 days prior to getting married. But we have been talking for over 6 weeks proir to his visit and we kind of made up our minds that we are meant to be together forever. We met through an online matrimonial website and I initiated the contact. He called me and we used to speak for long hours. When I had seen him the first time in the airport i just KNEW that he is the one, feeling's reciprocated. Thats why we didnt have any pictures prior to getting married. We coud provide only the wedding and reception pictures to the immigration.
Yes it was very exiting. It still is. We have been married for over 14 months now and everyday I keep falling in love with him even more than the day before.
There are SOOOO many things which we came to know about each other only after marriage. My friends in Canada keep asking me, "How can you marry someone whom you met only once!"....My only response was and still is that its a "great feeling". I really dont have a logical explanation how I married someone i knew for 6 weeks...all I know is that we are really lucky to have found each other.
