I had pretty bad marks in 10th grade (barely passing) and I fear my 10th score will leave a negative effect on my admission application, what can I do to compensate it? I'm willing to put my 100% the next 2 years to polish my academic profile but I need help with knowing where to start. For English proficiency should I take IELTS or TOEFL? High score in which of these is considered more? Should I take SAT too?

You should take the IELTS Academic test. No - you should not take SATs. You need to focus on achieving high marks in your last two years of secondary school.

Is there anything else I can do besides school? English proficiency is pretty much mandatory for international students but I wanted to add something extra to my academic profile to be on the safe side; is there any national entrance exams in Canada for undergrad program?

American universities give weightage to outside of school activities, essays, SAT/ACT scores etc so I figured Canadian unis would follow a similar suit.

I'm familiar with the US education system.

There is no national exam in Canada. University extrance is based on your secondary school grades. That's what you need to focus on.

Can you share your complete profile? I also had low marks in my college but I managed to address those points in my SOP.

I managed to get 65% in my 10th grade (the passing percentage was 60% in my school), prior to that I've never had such low score in school but I think the main contributor to that was my mother's death as I wasn't able to focus in school after her death, should I mention that in my application?

Yeah, you should cover that point in your SOP. As far as you are able to cover any of such points with good reasoning, you should be fine.
