I am from Pakistan and my wife is in the field of education for the last 15 years as a principal and curriculam designer. She possesses masters degree in English. I want to know about her job prospects in Vancouver. We have undergone medical process in March 2012 and she has some time for upgradation of her credentials. Please suggest what should she do. Would SAP training be helpful for her? :)

Thank you Qorax for the well written info. We recently got our pp request and will land in Toronto.
I am just thinking is Oct-Nov are not too cold to land?
Any one ..any ideas? ;D

Hello dear Qorax,

I am going to first enter in the country in July 20, My question is about the entrance procedure: As a primary applicant, I am coming three days earlier (and entering from US), my daughter will come from Europe three days after (both are arriving through Toronto int. airport). Hope this will not create any problem for her(She is 21)?
My second question is regarding the Proof of funds; I read your posting about bank statement. Since I am planning to enter for a week and then com after few months, I was planning to come with bank statement, with the money on debit card account (but after sow your posting not sure). Please advise me, should I have bank statement and explain to immigration officer that going to leave back for some time, or should carry cash back and forth to be secure?
Thanks a lot in advance, and thanks for all of your good comments and advises. they are really very helpful. Following your suggestions about job hunting and preparation, I even took online class at McMasters to shorten stage 1 and 2 :)

Dear liaumi,

If you live in US, you are welcome to carry Bank Statements especially if you have your bank account in Bank of America or any other major bank. I just completed my landing on 29th August and I live in US too. I landed by land via Deroit-Windsor tunnel and only carried $366 in cash. Rest of my proof of funds was in the form of Bank Statements. Along with Bank Statements, I also carried Bank Verification letter and ATM receipt. I can't say for sure whether Toronto will accept bank statements but I believe you won't have any issues as long as you have enough funds in your bank account.

In my opinion, ATM card won't help much because Immigration Officer won't be able to see how much money you have in your debit card so using it as proof of fund wil not be useful.

Here is my landing experience. You'll find some stuff useful.
