Hello,

I was recently accepted in a short exchange program in Canada this year. However, I need to get an eTA in order to land by plane.

One of the questions asked by the eTA format requires me to state my previous visa rejections for any country and the specific reason to why the rejection occurred.

I was denied a US tourist visa in february under Section 214(b) (not being able to demonstrate strong relations with home country), but I wasn't given any specific reasons as to why.

I'm not sure how I should state the reasons for my visa rejection, should I just write "US tourist visa rejection under Section 214(b)"?

I'm also not sure if I need to state in the eTA format that I'm going to Canada for an academic exchange program of three months and a half.

I'm worried that my previous US visa denial could cause my eTA denial as well.

What do you think?
