How to sponsor spouse when you are still on a student visa

I just would like to ask if you can sponsor your spouse even if your still holding a student visa?

Only Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor their spouse/children/parents & grandparents to Canada. If you are an foreign student, you need to first become a permanent resident. But you can invite your spouse for a visit or your spouse can apply for a spousal open work permit based on your study permit.
