Hi,
My wife is primary applicant, and her total 10 years of experience(Software engineer to Project Lead) is in same company. We have applied all the experience under the same code 2173(Software Engineers).

1. In Work history we are mentioning Start date as 2006 with Title as Project Lead. Only 1 row. No split up of different designations. Is that correct?
2. She is currently in Post maternity leave. She is still employed with the company but on Loss of Pay. Do we need to mention this somewhere or its fine?
3. In some posts I saw not to mention Spouse experience, its creates problem. Is that correct?

Thanks
Vishwa

Yes you can skip mentioning Spouse NON CANADIAN Work Experience in Work History. This way you dont have to submit any of reference letters, etc for your Spouse. But do write Letter of Explanation and just mention that as you are not claiming any CRS points for spouse work experience so you have removed it from Work History but its still part of Personal History

The reference letter from current employer will mention same; in case its not mentioned then you can leave things as it is. Kindly note that you cannot count Loss of Pay time in Total Experience. Ex: She started job in March 2015, and out of that she is on Maternity leave for 6 months. So in your profile do not mention total experience as 2 years. Hope this is helpful. Just explain this in Letter of Explanation and you will make the job of processing officer very easy.

I think its fine, i myself did it.

Thanks for answering my queries.

I had already updated the NON CANADIAN Work Experience in Work History and the profile is now blocked because I have received the ITA in today's lottery. Is there a way I can remove it or anything I should take care while filing for PR.
I have relieving/experience letter from my previous companies, wont they be sufficient?

Mine is very similar case. I'm with one employer all through my career but I had multiple entries in work history, one entry per role. I had to do that way as my company did not give me the experience letter (as is the case with all major Indian IT companies) and needed to provide solid evidence that I indeed have legitimate work experience. Separating it into multiple periods based on the roles I handled made it easy for me to provide substantiation.

In your case, if you get the experience letter with all the details needed, just go ahead with one entry and the latest role but otherwise, you may choose to do what I did.

Thanks. My profile is already locked now, so not able to edit. Are there chances they can reject PR application based on these?
For spouse also do we need to provide references for Non Canadian experience? As per the checklist I don't see they are asking for references for spouse.

After getting ITA, you sort of fills all the details again and you can do whatever you want to do with Work History there - as long as you are not falling below CRS cut off for that draw.

But if you make any change compared to EE profile, just write a short Letter of Explanation and you are good to go.

That's right. You can update the details as long as the change doesn't affect your CRS.
