Hey, What is the best way to send money to your university in Canada from pakistan?

If you have a US dollar account and a PAK rupee what is the best way?

The bank charges a lot of commission and gives a very messed up rate to convert US dollar into Canadian Dollar.

How did you guys send your tuition fee? Opened up a Canadian Dollar account and then transferred or what?

Wire Transfer, do it by rupiah to CAD. better n less commission. They must have given u any account number, to that. Do same for GIC too.

Use moneygram or dollareast. Both on Main Boulevard between liberty round about and Hafeez Centre

They have limits man. Cant send more than a certain amount.

you will be able to send 50000 CAD easily. Go and ask first.

They charge 1500 for sending a TT. But most of all a lesser exchange rate than the open rate. And that service is not of moneygram its the local company which is hosting moneygram aka wallstreet or Dollareast.

Thats like going to any exchange center and asking them to send TT using their own account. Instead of getting a lower rate it's better to open a canadian FCR in a bank and send money on open rate.

In which university are you going?
I have paid my fees of uni of regina via www.peertransfer.com
This is one of the official way to send fees in university of regina,
Peertransfer has many universities in their panel list and it is the safe and easy method to send fee from anywhere in the world.
It just took 4 business days to transfer fee from my bank account to the university account and i also received confirmation receipt from university and peertransfer also.

My university is not on their list.

Anyone else who paid their fee ? Can you comment on how you transferred the money?

Of course you will not get open market rates for a TT. Open market its for currency notes. You should take 10,000 CAD and send the rest via TT transfer wither from your own USD Foreign Currency Account or through Dollar East, wall street etc

Sending money through TT via exchange companies is basically wasting RS 45000 on a $30,000 remittance.

It's better to send bank to bank in CAD. Anyone else wants to use my way I'll charge 15,000 only instead of 45k that you'll be charged ;) haha kiddin :)
