How to send passport to visa office?

I don't know if this is a silly question.
How to send passport to visa office? Is it safe through DHL?
I have to pay extra security of Passport in DHL?

If you are in India, use Blue Dart, that is the best & most cost effective. Everybody recommends Blue Dart usually for sending Passports.

I guess they charge more than regular document.

For PP they may charge extra, I read some where that they charge additional fee to carry sensitive docs like PP
