How to renew an expired TRV from inside Canada for a person on Visitor Record?

Hi Members

I am unable to get hold of IRCC over the phone.

My spouse is currently in Canada on a valid Visitor record status (she can stay until December 2021). However, her TRV is expired (TRV a document they put inside the passport to enter Canada on your return from abroad). How do I renew her TRV from inside-Canada rather than from home country (India) as she will only be going for a short time (less than a month)

Please guide me through this as I want her TRV to be renewed from inside-Canada.

Hi. As per cic, we cannot renew TRV for visitor record from inside canada. In-canada TRV is applicable only for those holding study permit and open work permit.

Once a visitor record holder exit Canada, she/he other than US and St Pierre Miguelon with expire Entry visa she losses status, he/she needs to apply TRV again outside canada.

Thanks for responding.

After a little bit of research I found a person with similar situation. After a couple of phone conversations with IRCC call center agent he could successfully extend his daughter's TRV from inside Canada who was on visitor record. Firstly, in the questionnaire section to determine your eligibility for the question about current residence we have to answer other than Canada by doing so you will get the option to select TRV. I followed the same procedure as he said me over the phone my application is ready to go.

In the initial questionnaire I answered that I am applying out of Canada. However once inside the application, the application document IMM5257 section 7 ask: Country of application and section 9: Country of residence.
Since this application is for my son, and he is living with me in Canada. What did you respond to those 2 questions?

If on visitor record, you cannot apply for TRV from within Canada.

I show my daughter outside canada let sqw i saw india in questionaire and than i got the option of applying trv . So i filled out form and created a word document mentioned my case as my daughter is 6 yra and she kives with us in canada . But result is still awaited as orovessing time from india is 109 days. I hope ki ajayege as uts genuine case. But you need to provide explanation doc .
