My inlaws are trying to apply for TRV for the first time
My MIL is a housewife and FIL is retired
But they do have property and economic ties.. so that can be proved

They also have a married working son working in home country. But how can that be proved?
Also, should they apply separately to have greater chances of approval?

Thanks in advance

Good question.. since I am planning the same thing for my parents and in laws I have been through these questions earlier.
All you can mention is the name of the working son from your invitation letter.
Ask In laws to mention the same thing on their covering letter and get the affedivit of the same. Regd economic ties, as you said you can always mention the property and land owned by them , even you can get the valuation from some bank or company and attach the copy of valuations.

Also, in your own words, you can describe the more abstract part of social ties. Something like social circle and that they have built a life there that they are comfortable in and they would be go back to that

Correct... Have seen a letter with such details, like for fiance where we can not put the relationship on paper. It is more of descriptive details that are needed then.
