How to prove relationship with Grandparent

On behalf of my friend.

My Friend is a PR. With no parents.
He was thinking of entering the lottery and possibly sponsoring his only living grandmother.

What documents will he need to show relationship with his grandmother- it's not like a birth certificate; which lists the names of his parents (who are deceased)

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. He would like to get things ready, should luck be on his side.

Thank you for clearing this, just to confirm in order to prove my relationship with my grandfather I would need my birth certificate that has my father's name and my father's birth certificate that has my grandfather's name? That should be enough?
