Hello everyone,

My partner and I have lived together for almost a year and now I am preparing to apply for PR. I have a question of how to proof of relationship.
The first 5 month we lived together in Vancouver when my status was a visitor and then he got his UK passport. We moved to UK and lived in Manchester.
I can easily provide the proof what we have in UK but I don't know what proof I should provide while I was living with him in Vancouver.

Is there any way of proving that we really lived together in Vancouver? I don't have any proof of address during 5 months in vancouver.

Thank you for your time

You will need hard evidence to prove the 5 months you lived together in Vancouver. If you really have no proof of address for these 5 months, then you won't be able to count these months towards the 1 year required to be common law.

Do you have any of the following covering that period?
- joint bank accounts
- joint credit cards
- joint utility bills
- joint lease or affidavit from the landlord confirming you lived there together for this period

Hi scylla,

I don't have none of these. I can only provide UK joint bank account, and other documents. I am not sure if I can ask for his previous landlore to provide joint lease. Or should I wait till we have 12 month proof of living in UK which is in September.

Thanks

If you have no evidence then you will need to wait until you have 12 months of proof of living in the UK - or alternatively get married.

Do both of you even have proof of mail or packages going to that apartment throughout that time. Did he have a lease there? I5 would certainly be easier to spend 1 year together in England so you know you have the actual proof. Make sure you have proof of mail from the 1st month and throughout the time. More than A joint lease. There are lots of other posts on this subject you should read.
