How to pick up new PR card while outside of Canada

Hi members,

I am just about to send my application form for renewing my PR card (1st time renewal) i met the obligation. however, I need to go back to my country in a few days due to family emergency needs to take care. If CIC asks me to pick up my new PR card in near future, can I enter Canada via my old card (expires in Oct 2013) any problem to enter Canada before Oct 2013 in order to pick up new card?

Do they automatically cancel the old card in their system once new card is being issues? but I need to go back to my country for a while...thanks a lot for your advice!

my passport stamp contains foreign language, what happens if I didn't get it translate? can I send it in later?

They don't cancel the old card, you can use it until you pick up the new one.
