Expired Illinois license will be of no help but if you had a valid US license it can be exchanged directly with an Ontario license. Check this link

http://www.drivetest.ca/EN/licencing/Pages/Exchanging-a-Reciprocal-Licence.aspx

Use the NOC you have obtained from Lahore. Thanks
I driving license issued in 2002 and expired in 2008 then I didn't renew it. Can I still claim experience of two years on this expired licens

Hi...
I have a very important question. please answer it those who know it.
I had my learner driving license in Pakistan in 2010 but I got my license in March 2013 from Islamabad Traffic Police. and I just immigrated to Canada in Alberta. after giving my first test, should I wait for one year and then get my license or does my license from Pakistan get counted?

I have driving license from a country which does not have reciprocal agreement with Alberta Driving License. Can I first exchange license to a country which has reciprocal agreement (England) before moving to Canada. Will there be any issue with this?

Hi,
Pakistani, coming in Canada in jan 2014.
By "1. We must obtain a "No objection Certificate" (NOC) from the country's Roads & Transport Authority, explaining our D/License stating how old our license is and how much driving experience we have from Pakista"

ROads and transport authority, you mean our traffic police? we go there and ask them for a NOC?
Also, should I get :
International license too?

SHould any of these be attested by Ministory of foreign affairs or anything?

yes go to your relevant traffic police office in the city you are. I have a sample here I obtained from Islamabad traffic police

You don't need international driving permit really unless you want to drive in Canada for first 3 months after landing.

If possible try to attest NOC from MOFA.

Good luck

Thank you for your help. I went to the authority which gives 'driving license' . Got international license, but those A-holes said we don't give any NOC type thing. Your print would be helpful to me. Bastards charged me extra dough for 'processing' the international license on the same day . And still won't give the complete information.

Dude take it easy. Which authority you went by the way ?. I know people from KPK (NWFP) couldn't get NOC as they don't give any but then took their own printed NOC on their own made letter head and got it signed from them. Any way if you can't get NOC you will have to attest copy of your driving license from Pakistan embassy in Canada and they will charge you some fees but that would work. Remember on international driving license you can drive car for 1st three months only after landing..good luck..

I passed my G test in first attempt in Kitchener. Its an easy test centre.

Buddies in Ontario, try Kitchener, Guelph or Clinton. They all are piece of cake. Good luck all.

And always avoid Brampton. It is said to be the most difficult one.

If any one wana know my driving instructor his name is "Inayat" he is from Pakistan. He was good. He charges $30 per lesson..

Cell No. 416-889-3425

Good luck all

Ok guys, I was finally able to take the 'verification certificate' whose contents are identical to the sample posted by cocknbull.
The only problem was, neither they nor I had the idea if it's to be given for Domestic license or International. Since these guys were operating at above efficiency levels. They our police department is very co-operative with the citizens, they gave me two seperate documents, one verifying contents of Domestic license, other of international License.

Which one should I get attested from MOFA? (international verification aka NOC certificate ) or Domestic one?

According to MOFA, PK: http://www.mofa.gov.pk/content.php?pageID=consaffairs

"Original Driving License has to be presented at the counter alongwith NOC issued by concerned License Issuing Authority. Only original NOC is attested. Copy of CARD driving license is also attested."

So that's it. I walk in there, give License (how about both licenses and both NOCs ?) and photocopies, play angry birds for 2 hours and pay 10 ruppes and it's all rosey?

Dear I don't know this one. He will have to check it from the office if they accept his unattested license and agree to approve for G1 road test. And even if he goes for G1 road test and passes it he will only get G2 license and after that another year to get full G license. Thanks
if you take a license without a letter from the issuing authority of the license, the maximum period they can only give you 12 months experience for G1 road test without any waiting.

Source: I was given this option at Drive Test but I took a different route.

Another thing:

for people with more than 24 months of experience:

1. if you fail your G2 road test in the first attempt, you can go to do G1 road test without any waiting times.
2. Once you get your G1 road test completed, you can go for G2 road test without any waiting period.
3. The best thing I would say is that when you finally get the full G license in the mail, it will have four black dots on it showing you have more than 4 years of driving experience, hence in a family you can even train your family members. This will satisfy the following condition for G1 driver:

Drive with a fully licensed driver who has:
At least four years of driving experience

NOC should be obtained for domestic driving license not international because to get license in Canada you will present your domestic license not international. They are two different things domestic license and international driving license. Actually international driving license is meant for visitors (those who come on visitor visa in Canada) to drive in Canada.

Attest domestic driver's license NOC only from MOFA because you won't need International driving NOC for any purpose.

By the way I had an old book license and MOFA also attested that book for me. I mean I got domestic driver's license NOC attested and original driver's license book also. In reality you only need original NOC attested not driver's license itself but as it costs like 20 rupees or so, so better attest both of them.

Good luck.....

Important. Somebody told me that his NOC from Karachi was not accepted in British columbia so it also varies from province to province but here in Ontario its surely accepted as me and my friend's got accepted.
