I currently live in Chicago Illinois and I work for uber eats, grubhub, caviar, doordash and postmates. I want to move to Toronto during the summer but am having trouble figuring out how I'm gonna be able to work legally. I am an independent contractor and am not employed by any of the companies I'm delivering for. I'm self employed. Can someone tell me the process of how this would work?

Others can comment as well but you cannot work in Canada without a work permit even if just for Uber given you would be taking away employment opportunities for residents.

It wouldn’t work . It would be the same as if I decided to drive down to Chicago and started doing the same. I don’t have the legal right to work in the USA
You require authorization to work in Canada

The short answer is that it won't work.

You would need to be holding an open work permit to be able to work like this in Canada. Open work permits are only granted in very specific circumstances and you don't meet any of the criteria.
