How to know if you're a conditional permanent resident.

Hi, so my SO and I've been wondering how do we determine if I'm conditional permanent resident or not?
Government specifications are sort of confusing, and I can't find anything concrete online.
We started dating in February 2011, I moved to Canada in September 2011 and we immediately started living together. We applied for my PR in September 2013 but a few weeks prior to what would be exactly two years of us cohabiting together. I'm not sure if those 7 months that we were in committed relationship but I was in my home country qualifies as a conjugal relationship.
My record of landing says : Conditions - none.
But I'm wondering does the Conditional Permanent residents "condition" is listed as must stay together for another 2 years. If anyone- especially conditional pr's could answer- that would be awesome. Thank you all so much. Mirna.

Then you do not have conditional PR. If you did, it would show Condition: 51

So my record of landing/ pr card would have "condition 51" listed under conditions?? Also my record of landing says it's valid till 2016 but my card says till 2020... Can someone explain that?

It would have been on your landing paper.

Your PR status doesn't expire, but your card does. As long as you meet (and maintain) the Residency Obligations, you just need to renew the card every 5 years.

Technically I have confirmation of permanent residence but it says conditions: 00 none. I would attach a photo of I could. Their requirement for not being conditional makes no sense to either of us. Would my PR card have the 51 listed? I can't find any photos of a card or confirmation with the condition 51 listed.

Since it doesn't apply to you, why even worry about whether or not it makes sense...for those that it does pertain to?

If a person has Condition 51, they must continue to live with their partner or spouse (sponsor) for two years, from the day that they land, in a marriage-like relationship, cohabiting at the same primary address. If one of them moves, and/or the relationship breaks down, the PR recipient would be in breach of the conditional PR and would be at risk of having it revoked. CIC/CBSA have ways of knowing if a couple is still together, if they really need to know...including random house visits to make sure they are still living together.

But again...this is of no concern for you. ;)

Even when you do have Condition 51, it does not show up on your PR card. It will only show up on your COPR under the conditions section of that paper.

The reason your COPR expires is only because that is how long CIC set to get you physically landed before the document can no longer be used for landing. Your PR doesn't actually expire and the document is still very much needed for later on down the road for collecting old age pension, getting citizenship, all kinds of interesting things. Put it away somewhere safe so not to loose it.

And most importantly ....

Welcome to Canada! :D

I have conditional permanent residency. My husband and I haven't been married for over 2 years and that is why.
When I got my COPR it said "Conditions must live with spouse for 2 years following approval' etc.
