How to insure in Ontario with MSP from BC.

Hi, I currently live in BC and have MSP, BC's health plan, and I am going to move to Toronto next month.
I am not eligible for applying OHIP because I have only my Work Permit and don't meet the requirement.
Can I apply for the OHIP through the inquiry of my MSP?? or even switch them?

Do you have a full time job with your work permit? If you are moving to Toronto specifically for a job then you may be eligible for OHIP: http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/publications/ohip/ohip_eligibility.aspx
you are a foreign worker who holds a valid work permit or other document issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) permitting you to work in Canada, and you also have a formal agreement in place to work full-time for an employer situated in Ontario which sets out the employer's name, your occupation, and confirmation that you will be working for no less than six consecutive months;

If you are in Canada just on open work permit with no such letter of guarantee for work, than you are most likely out of luck in Ontario and would need to buy some private health insurance. In this case it sounds like you're better off to stay in BC. Provincial health plans are not transferable between provinces from what I know. Ontario is one of the most difficult for newcomers to get health insurance.

Anyway, I have not been working with my work permit, I just finished a college here.
You know the thing that is most important is I am expecting, pregnant, so I am not sure whether a private insurance will cover the whole fees of using a hospital or meeting a doctor.
So, in my case, insuring an insurace that will cover the potential fees is inevitable...

You know the thing that is most important is I am expecting, pregnant, so I am not sure whether a private insurance will cover the whole fees of using a hospital or meeting a doctor.
So, in my case, insuring an insurace that will cover the potential fees is inevitable...

If you are already pregnant, than you can NOT get any private insurance that will cover any of the pregnancy or birth related costs.

If you move to Toronto you need to be prepared to pay all pregnancy related fees yourself. If you are still covered under BC health plan, then you should stay in BC.
