Hi, my partner and I have 379 points between us - 10CLB(IELTS9,8.5.8,9) (English) for me in all 4 areas, 2 year post secondary credential, 36 years old and over 6+ years in a my B class NOC - outside of Canada - my B class Noc's (qualify under 2282 and 2281).
I’m a British and also Australian citizen; and my partner is Chilean citizen, she is 32 and has a 3 year degree and approx. 3 years (outside of Canada experiance) as an Agricultural Engineer/Technician. I can see that reading all the posts that 379 is probably way too low to get an offer under EE so what I want to know is how we could possible push our points up (to above 453 ideally) to possibly facilitate an offer? Is it work my partner getting an ECA/doing IELTS.. Is PNP the only really option we have? - We live in Australia currently and have never been to or lived in Canada.. - If we were to look at the PNP (for any province)option how long does it take for provincial nomination to be assessed and finalised (and what chances do we actually have if any). Also wondering what Quebec sponsorship offers. My IELTS is 2 years old on the 12/10/15 so thats why we want to make some headway now.

Basically we are just trying to clarify our chances of migrating and what input anyone have on this.....

Any info is very much appreciated.

If your partner can get her ECA done as Bachelors - that will net you 8 points.

If she can score as well as you in IELTS (at least CLB 9 across all 4 sections) - that will net you 20 points.

No points for her experience since it was gained outside Canada.

In the short term, that's the best you can do and it takes your score beyond 400 which makes you eligible for OOPNP but make haste because that program is in high demand now.

All the best!

if either of you have any proficiency in the second official language (French) you can also boost your score by taking the French exam.

Look into the various PNP programs, EE is not the only route to immigration, PNP programs exist along slide of EE.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/apply-who.asp

As well, some provinces have demand for agricultural workers, you can look into temporary work permits; easier to get PR after gaining work experience in Canada.

See for example...

It sounds like you've calculated this score with you being the principal applicant. Considering your partner is 4 years younger, and has a three year degree program, the two of you would get far more points (if she can also manage a CLB 10, and gets an ECA you would push it up to 430) if she were the principal applicant. Getting past 400 should at least make you eligible to apply for a provincial nominee under EE.

The other way, of course would be for either one of you to get a job with an LMIA.

All you need is patience. I am sure you will be issued ITA very soon. 453 is pretty good score. Hold on.
