Hello Everyone/Senior Members.

We went through the whole family sponsorship and my wife landed last year in June. Now we would like to help one of her friends to come visit us. We understand that you need to prove to the immigration officer that she will not stay longer than her visit in Canada and will return back home.

We would like to gather your thoughts on what are the ways we can increase her chances. My wife's friend resides in UAE and is currently working. We will provide a letter stating that we will bear all expenses and she will be staying with us during the course of her stay in Canada. Does getting a lawyer make any sense ?

Do let us know your thoughts. Thank you.

Basically this is stating that she does not have the needed resources to travel on her own, making her a potential illegal immigrant.

SHe has to show strong evidence that she does not have the need to immigrate illegally.

Depends in your specifics.

Hey Jalex23 - Thanks for your reply, I wouldn't necessarily think that showing a statement of support automatically flags for potential illegal immigrant - There are cases where young teens would like to visit the country and sure their bank balance may not reflect as such. However you do make a point. Would there be anything else to consider for a stronger case ?

This is not what you or I might think.

A TRV is imposed when people from a certain country are meant to NOT BE TRUSTED unless proven otherwise.

The applicant must show funds of their own enough for the trip. A short visit and a steady long held job will certainly help.

i disagree with the illegal immigrant comment, as long as you can show that you can support her during her stay and you will ensure she leaves by the leave by date, she should also show strong ties to her country, a job? a house? family? property?
