Think the term conjugal is what is confusing you. Conjugal relationships have a very different meaning in the context of immigration for IRCC.

Yes, it's confusing how IRCC interprets relationships. We always had an option to live together but we never did because we were focusing on our careers. I was just worried that we might face problems in future because I did not mention my girlfriend as my conjugal partner in my application but it's clear to me now that my relation is not termed as conjugal.
