Hello everyone,

I am working in Canada as a skilled labor with one of Canadian Employer. I have a closed Work Permit with a Canadian employer valid for 1 year (1st April 2012 to 31st March 2013). I have just arrived in Regina, Saskatchewan with my Wife. My Wife is holding Visitor Visa for an year too. My Wife is bachelor in Computer Science. Can I apply Work Permit for my wife in Regina,Saskatchewan. I have no problem in attaching my work permit copy with her application , if required. How bright are the chances of getting the Work Permit for my wife?

Will really approceiate all the guidance.

Thanks and Regards,

If your job is skill type O, skill level A or B, your wife will be eligible for an open work permit.

If it is a skilled job, then it should fall under NOC O, A or B which will enable your wife to be eligible for OWP (Open work permit) - go ahead and file the application if your job category falls in the mentioned NOC codes. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply,

My Occupation in Work Permit is : Interactive Media Programmer and Developer. I had applied for Work Permit under NOC 2174. Could you please confirm the skill level for this NOC Code.

Thanks and Regards,

NOC 2174 = skill level A(where the 2nd digit(in red) determines the skill level...if it's 0 or 1 = skill level A; 2 or 3 = skill B and if NOC code starts with 0 = skill type O).

SenoritaBella,

Thanks a Ton.
So now i can apply for Work Permit of my wife based on my Skill Level - A Work Permit. It would really be very helpful if you could guide/suggest me with all the steps involved in this procedure and what should be the appropriate time for us to apply for WP. We had arrived in Canada on 21st April 2012 and living in Regina, SK. Please guide me with the further actions which i should perform to get the WP for my Wife.

Thanks a lot once again.

Warm Regards,

I'm not familiar with the open work permit process for spouses(as far as the forms to use, etc) but PMM, scylla or Leon would know more. Send one of them an email. Best of luck in everything!!!

Senorita Bella,

Thanks again. I have tried the forum to get their email ids but not mentioned anywhere. I would be making another post in the same post , addressing PMM. Or if you got email id of any one of them then it would be helpful...

I appreciate you help.

Thanks and Best Regards,

I am afraid that i am not able to send a private message to PPM after clicking his username. It only allows me to add him to my Buddy list, nothing else.

Thanks Senorita...

Regards,

Ok... start a topic and include PMM, Leon & scylla's usernames. They will respond.
