How to get OINP invite

Hi all,

I have 6+ years of experience in IT and a master's degree in Computers. With my IELTS score, my points are 417 at the moment.

I am not expecting ITA invite, but I think I should get an invite for OINP. Do I need to apply somewhere for that? I have just submitted Express Entry application, and a Job Bank registration at the moment.

As you have more than 400 CRS points, you can expect a PT NOI from Ontario.
In your EE application, you need to select Only "Ontario" OR "All provinces and territories" option in order to trigger this PT NOI.

Wait for a week's time and see if you receive this PT NOI from Ontario.

thanks mate. Someone told me I must have a job offer, in order to, to qualify for OINP. I guess that's certainly not the case.

No, you don't need a job offer to get a PT Notification of Interest from OINP in your EE account. From your score (CRS 400+), you are eligible to receive PT Notification of Interest from OINP. As per the trend that we have seen, you should get an invite within a week or two. In case you dont, I would suggest you to create a new EE profile. This worked for many applicants, they got Ontario PT Notification of Interest for Nomination within a week of creating a new EE profile. In fact, OINP also suggests candidates to do so as per their update dated November 24, 2015 (given below).

"It has come to our attention that technical issues may have resulted in candidates not receiving Notification of Interest (NOI) though they believe they meet the criteria for Ontario’s Express Entry streams. If you believe you fall into this category and have not received an NOI within one month of submitting your EE profile, we encourage you to create a new profile in the EE system. If you create a new EE profile, you must delete your old profile."

Wanted to ask... I see that a person has to respond within 45 days to OINP invite. Is there a list of documents somewhere I should start working on?

Yes, once you get an invite, you have 45 days to submit your OINP Application. The list of documents which you need to arrange can be found here http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNP_EE_CAPITAL.html. It is mentioned in the Application Guide for Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream, you can download the guide and refer to it.

It says I can accept or decline. Though it doesn't say how can I accept it? do I just send fill the application form and send it along with documents?


The Government of Ontario is interested in considering you for nomination under its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) through Express Entry.

If you want Ontario to consider you for nomination under its PNP you must contact Ontario directly after receiving this letter. Note that this letter of interest is not a guarantee that you will be nominated by Ontario. You will first have to satisfy Ontario that you meet the requirements of their program.

You can find general information about each province or territory's PNP program on the CIC website. You will also find a link to Ontario's PNP requirements and contact information.

Congrats on the invite! Once you get an invite, you accept it by sending the OINP Nomination Application as per the guidelines the Application Guide on this page. Please refer to it for the list of documents that you need to arrange.http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNP_EE_CAPITAL.html

Hey i hv submitted my profileagain on 19th january n i hv not yet received an oinp. Mworried now. Did i dosmthing wrong?.i hv 417 points. I m a financial manager. My friend justgot it today n he has only 407 points. He is a pharmaceutical scientist. Is it because of his profession tht he got chosen? I selected ontario to reside. Earlier i had selected all provinces but in new one its Ontaro. Pls help. Shud i wait or create another one again? Thnks.

As far as I understand, NOC does not have a role in the invite being issued. The invite is solely based on the score and looking at your score you qualify to receive an invite. Wait for few more days, otherwise try recreating your profile.
