Hi,

I am an QSW, granted PR and landed just this Oct. 2018.

During the application process, I declared my husband and my 1y.o son as non-accompanying dependents.

Now that I have landed, I want to know which steps to make inorder to get my family right away.
Buth the problem is, due to some work issues, my husband could not follow right away.

My question is, is it possible to get my son, and my mother instead (so that she could take care of my son) to Canada?

Can somebody please guide me on this.

Son, yes, via Family Class sponsorship.

Mother, no, not yet. There is a completely different mechanism for parents sponsorship and this has strict preconditions. She can visit however, as long as she is able to obtain a suitable visa.

just to add that as a visitor you need to be wary of your mother taking care of your son as that can be considered as work especially if that becomes the reason to visit and work of course not allowed on a visit visa.

None of these steps are right away. It will take around a year to sponsor your husband and son. You can attempt to get your son and husband a TRVs but may be pretty difficult.

When can I possibly get my son? And what should I do first, if you don't mind me asking.
Thank yoi so much!

What should I do first then?
Your response is much appreciated

Your son will need a visa to come to Canada, even as a visitor. This may, or may not be granted. You will need to apply on his behalf.
Sponsorship of your son can start as soon as you prepare the application paperwork.

Nobody can say for sure how long either of these steps will take.

Where will I apply for sponsorship? Is there an office or an agency that I need to go to?

Similar to your application you can fill out the paperwork yourself or hire someone. Not sure who advised you to apply as non-accompanying but that wasn't good advice. Even if you get your son to Canada on a TRV you would need to work and pay for childcare. Doubt you would qualify for a subsidized spot if he is only on a TRV.
