Dear YellowTopaz.

First of all get your all documents (photocopy) notarized from notary public / oath commissioner from your city (they are mostly available outside of D.C Office or courts). I got my documents notarized (120 pages) against a cost of Rs. 125-00 only from Mirpur Khas.

No need to send original documents (except IELTS result & PCC) to embassy. Get copies of your your university degree's & Transcripts and other documents to Controller of Exams of university. He will attest the same against a nominal fees which is to be paid in Bank. He will seal the envelope which is to be sent to embassy as it is.

Above reply is based on my own personal experience. I got my university documents notarized from Mehran Engg. University, Jamshoro.
