petition means applying for divorce... its simple.. to get a divorce certificate it only takes a day and they give in the same day... but before that u need to have your divorce court order in your hand which takes like 5- 6 weeks max

See if you had your divorce in Ontario you have to go to the court services.
Of your in toronto- you have to go to:-

You can order as many copies you want

Divorce:-
393 University Avenue, 10th floor
8:30- 5:00
----////
1) Certified copy or file marked copy of the petition or complaint filed with the court seeking divorce by the applicant;
2) Certified copy or file marked copy of the order granting divorce issued by the judge
3) divorce certificate - which is granted after 30 days of divorce order

A divorce petition is simply the document by which you start divorce proceedings and I see no reason why that document would be of interest to CIC unless, possibly, the order granting the divorce (normally referred to as the decree) is ambiguous; but that would be a first for me. I suspect that you have misunderstood the request. If you gave us a few more facts we might be of more help!

It's possible that CIC suspect a "Divorce of Convenience" and wish to investigate the grounds for the original petition, which the decree/certificate wouldn't reveal.

You guys are wrong - for any document related to marriage cic states one should produce :- divorce petition, divorce order, and certificate

All three documents hve to be submitted - if any one of these are missing - CIC will request it

This is true. According to country specific instructions (guide 3904), applicants from India must provide, in case of divorce:
- complete divorce petition,
- judgement and
- final divorce decree.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3904E.pdf

It's obviously "country specific" as this is not required for Western Europe, where only the final document is required.

Avada is correct: country specific documents required by IMM3904E for India Bhuttan and Nepal. Not required for UK (and possibly for the rest of Europe; but I have not checked that). However it appears that the OP is applying as a sponsor (if that is what is meant by 'to proceed for my sponsorship file'. So far as I have been able to discover the requirement only applies to the applicant for immigration, and does not apply to an application to sponsor. Do please enlighten me if that is incorrect.
