The sites that are mentioned are pretty good. In fact, I got my job offer from an employer who had posted on one of these sites. Keep trying until you find a company that's a good fit for you. Usually, a company will go through the LMO process and the Work Permit wait only when it's in dire need of a job profile that is hard to fill locally. You'll also need to be a good fit for their work culture in order to get an offer from them. There's a lot of luck at play, so keep trying relentlessly. Apply at all companies where you would like to work. Tell them the truth about your reason for moving there.

Hey there!
I'm currently posting resumes everywhere for low-skilled work and I'm wondering, does that really work? I mean, I checked the processing time for a work permit from an office dealing with my country (4 months), and I'm thinking, what kind of an employer would even bother with applying for LMO and waiting all this time? What I'm asking is, is there anybody here who actually found a job by applying through a regular job search site? I just wanted to know if there's any point in doing that. Thanks!

You're right. Find a job offer is hard and semi-skilled ones are even worse if you are not currently in Canada. Because if the employer hires you, first of all, he must considerate with LMO and absolutely he will have to wait for months for your arriving. Moreover, he must pay for your air-fair, accommodation, ect... due to government's request, and I think he would not want to do so. If you could, you should get a travel visa and apply for a job when you arrive to Canada, it is easier.

In the meantime, my suggestion, you may look for some better jobs or try to get used to people and life in Canada. You are able to conduct a 6-month travel visa. 42 days are about 1,5month. Otherwise, if you are not able to travel to Canada, my tips is you should write in your resume that you are willing and completely commit all employer's requirements, such as air-fair, insurance, acommodation,..ect. Hope this would help you
