How to fill schedule 3 question 8?

Form SCHEDULE 3 QUESTION 8 asks "Have you or, if applicable, your accompanying spouse or common-law partner, previously worked full-time in Canada?"

My case is I haven't worked in Canada before this past February, and since then I have worked, for one month now. Does this one month qualify me to fill "Yes"? Or the intent of this question is to ask whether you have worked before your current employment? Thanks.

You should better opt for "No" as this question per se referred to your/your spouse’s “full-time work experience in Canada in the past”. Not for “Current occupation”. Good luck to you!

But literally, February is in the past, isn't it?
Thank you kathe, I am not trying to challenge your advice, just want to make things perfect. Can you confirm that "yes" is not appropriate here? Thanks.

Yes. Feb is in the past and I feel you should report it as yes. Keep in mind, they are after legal employment in which you were paid full salary, worked at least 37.5 hrs a week, and paid your taxes.

Hello liherb!

Don't worry, I understand your concern and we should consider all sorts of ideas. I won't take it as a challenge! Well even yesterday is a past :) As per my understanding, you have worked at your current job since Feb until now! Right? If so it is your current occupation! Here Sect: 8 clearly asked your/your spouse's full-time work in the past. For your current occupation, you could describe thoroughly at the Sect: 11.

Ok, to rest assure, let's check in the application guide! You also oughta check there!

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf

Sec: 8 Work in Canada
If applicable, check the box to indicate whether you or your accompanying spouse or common-law partner, have worked full-time in Canada in the past.
Sec: 11 Your work experience
Starting with your current occupation, list all of the occupations that you have had in the 10 years preceding the date of your application. For each occupation;

Good Luck!

Does "yes" give me any bonus? Probably I should generously say "no" here without losing anything?

"YEs" wont give you any bonus point since your work exp in Canada was only 1 month. According to CIC guideline:
Previous work in Canada:
 You or your accompanying spouse or common-law partner completed a minimum of one year of full-time work in Canada on a valid work permit = 5 points

Dr.Hasib

Fabulous! Thank you Dr.Hasib, your analysis is right to the point! I know what I'm going to do now.
By the way, also for SCHEDULE 3, for question 12 which asks you to put in "Order of preference", can I select 2 different job titles for one employment experience? Because I am not quite sure which one suits better and I want to remind the VO of another possibility should they find the first one does not fit very well.
Or is it strictly required that for one job you can only put one title?

Do u mean 1 NOC code by 1 employment experience ?
in that case you need to put only 1 NOC with job title. (you must have put 1 particular or different job titles in question number 11)
but if u had 2 or more employment exp in different NOC then you must put all NOC and your exp will be assesed according to order of your preference.

So even if I have two different NOC for my previous job, I have to choose only one? Doesn't it limit my chance?

you got me wrong. if u have 2 work exp under differnet NOC then you must mention it in question no 12.
suppose you had work exp in NOC 3113 and Noc 3112. in that case you must put both.
CIO will review your application according to your chosen order(A. 3113, B. 3112 or A. 3112, B. 3113) of preference.

Hi Dr.Hasib, what if my job duties fall into two different NOC categories at the same time, for the same period of employment and same employer? Should I choose one to put in? Or Can I put both in order of preference?
