Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I am in a bit of fix and would really appreciate it if someone experienced in this matter posts a reply to it asap. I am outlining my situation below:

My wife is a Canadian PR and I am located in India (recently shifted there from US). So she is my sponsor and I am the principal applicant.

We have our entire package ready for spousal sponsorship outside Canada. The only issue that we came across with was the payment of fees.

My wife does not have a credit card. We ordered IMM5401 form online and it has been 3 weeks now but it has still not been delivered to her in Canada. So I did call the CIC and they told me that it's not necessary that only she has to make the payment. The payment can be made by anyone's credit card (it can be any family member or friend). So i paid the fees with my credit card.

The receipt that i received has my name pre-filled in the name section. This has got me confused and worried. I have read and heard that the receipt must contain sponsor's Information (in my case my wife who is Canadian PR).

Now i am not sure what to fill in following sections:

1. Name: Currently it has my name (since i made the payment). However should i erase it (using whitener) on the receipt and fill in my wife's name instead in this section (since my wife is the sponsor)?
2. Client Date of Birth: I guess it should have my wife's name on it who it my sponsor. Am i right?
3. Client ID: I guess it should have my wife's name on it who is my sponsor. Am i right?
4. Address: Whose address should it be? Sponsor's or the one who made the payment?
5. Postal Code: Whose Postal Code should it be? Sponsor's or the one who made the payment?
6 & 7. Area Code & Telephone Number: Whose phone number should it be? Sponsor's or the one who made the payment?

I will highly appreciate a quick reply.

Thanks.

The name and address on that receipt is just so they know who to send the refund to if a refund is ever requested. I think you can leave the client ID blank if you don't have one.

Exactly.
In my case, I paid with my grandfather's cc and did this way.

Thank you for your replies.

I still have further confusion here.

1. Since my wife is my sponsor (having Canadian PR) and I am the principal applicant (not having any Canadian Visa) in this spousal outland application, shouldn't the receipt contain my wife's client ID (i.e. her PR number) and also her date of birth in client Date of birth field?

2. From the above replies I understand that since I paid using my credit card, the receipt has my name pre-printed on it and the address and phone number should be mine for any refund request on it.
However I used my credit card in US to make a payment and I no longer live in US. I have shifted to India and am going to close my credit card account in a couple of weeks.
So logically I wouldn't be able to receive a refund even if in any future situation they send one to US address.
So in this case, can i just erase my name (which has been pre printed since i used my card) on the receipt with whitener and instead use my wife's name and address on it?

You can put your wife's information if you want. I don't think it makes a big difference. If there was a refund, I don't think it would go back on your credit card, anyway. As I understand it, they would mail a cheque in the event of a refund. Make sure that the address on there is valid at least.

Thank you for your reply.

I would definitely like to erase my name and put her name and information instead on it so that they can connect it properly with our application.

And i would like to put her address in Canada (her current residential permanent address).
By valid address do you mean any address which is a valid postal address where the check can be mailed to and delivered to in case of a refund?

How to complete the Payer Information section on the e-payment receipt?

The e-payment receipt must be filled out by hand prior to submitting it with the application. The “Payer Information” fields must match the cardholder's information entered at the time of the payment.

The “Client date of birth” and “Client ID” must be those of the principal applicant.

I thought I'd post this, for future reference. My parents paid for our application and so we filled it out with my mum's address. I put my DOB on the form as directed.

Hope this helps!
