Hi All,
I have submitted my profile in CIC and have received my EE profile number.

Since last one month, I have been applying jobs through job bank and other job portals but I haven't received any reply from any employers yet.
Please do help me in understanding,if I am going wrong anywhere in searching jobs in Canada.

I have following queries:

1. How many points will be added after getting any offer from the employer?
2. Do I need to register on some other job portals too? Please suggest.
3. How to get a provincial nomination?
4. Where can we see the CIC express entry draw dates and their cut offs?

Please do suggest if I am missing on any other steps in the process, which I may not be aware.

My profile details are below:
IELTS Score: 7.5
Overall Score - 384

Application/profile status - Open
Province/Territory Nomination - No nomination at this time
Job Bank Registration - Accepted
Review of Minimum Entry Criteria - Met
ITA Status - No invitation at this time

Express Entry Profile Details
Criteria Details

1. How many points will be added after getting any offer from the employer?
600 points. Not just offer. It has to be supported by LMIA.
2. Do I need to register on some other job portals too? Please suggest.
You can do it. Ultimately employer offering a job is what matters
3. How to get a provincial nomination?
Not sure. Not my area.
4. Where can we see the CIC express entry draw dates and their cut offs?

Good start! They are also province level websites where opening are posted. For ex British columbia has something like workbc.ca
Similarly, I think other provinces should also have the websites.

As far as I understand, you need to have a job within a certain province to be eligible for provincial nomination, this is a must. All other criteria vary from province to province.

Hi,
Thanks a lot Guys !!

So should I continue posting my profiles to the employers on these websites and send resumes to job agencies..?

Can you suggest some best
job portals and job agencies for jobs in IT ?

Thanks in advance.

i am in the same situation as you...
mw points is 383
and my NOC is also 2173...

Since last year ive been sending my resume but i never got any reply from any employer... :(

let me know if you come up with something..

i don't know what to do anymore..

since last year ive been gathering all the documents necessary but could't apply for FSWP because it was already capped by the time i got all documents :(

I'm in a similar situation. Just improved my CV and going to look for a job.
As I have 365-380 points, I think that at least this year we can forget about ITA.
My NOC is 2133 or 2241 (electronics engineering).

Do you send any other letters with your resume? How do you explain that you aren't Canadian citizen?

Other way to search for a job is to contact companies directly without requiters or create contacts in LinkedIn.

Hi..
I just send my resume and a cover letter stating I am. Express entry candidate and about my general skills.

What else you guys do it..apart from this?

Are you using a Canadian style resume that highlights your accomplishments and is targeted to the job ad?

Apart from applying on the sites with a cover letter and my resume, I tried cold calling few companies and recruitment firms. The solid answer I received from them all is that "Unless you're in Canada, we can't help you", or "As soon as you get your PR approved, we can call you in for an interview".

But I am not losing hope, still calling companies whenever I am able to.

BTW I am a Mechanical engineer with 7 years experience. 391 points in the new EE system.

Refer to my previous entry. Apart from sending resume, cover letter and Express entry details, I try cold calling.

And LinkedIN is a potential job hunt source as well. I received an interview call from Quebec for which I applied through LinkedIN.

U were interviewed then? inspite of not having a PR status??

Yes yes. The employer went through my LinkedIN profile. Interviewed me in skype. And the employer was OK to sponsor work permit first. I did not take up the offer though as the pay was low. As a married guy with a child, I had to think through.

Personal stories aside, my point is keep trying. Sending in resumes with cover letter and applying through job sites, applying through LinkedIN, try cold calling companies and recruitment agencies. Something might work out. stay positive :)
