How to correct mistake in previous visa

Hi every one
I need some info
Last year I appled temporary resident visa and I got the visa, but by mistake I wrote wrong date of birth of my father on family form, now I am going to apply visa again, I want to know that how can I correct the date of my father this year, do I need to provide any evidence? Do that mistake effect on my application?

Write a correct date, and write a letter explaining the previous mistake + attach a copy of his birth certificate.

All my father documents are not in english.
do i can translate my father National identity card or birth certificate and signed it?
date of birth is mention on both documents

They need to be a notarized translation.
