Hello,

I hope you're well well!
Recently I received a message from CRA to return back the fee (for 2017), due to marital status change.
No problem, I paid the fee.
Then I checked my CRA online account and realized that marriage date changed from 19.11.2017 to 31.12.2018, which is not the correct date.
Do you know how can I update CRA with a correct date? I don't care that I had to return some money if I was not entitled to it, however, I want CRA know the correct marriage date to avoid any problems in the future.
Any advise how to do it?

Thank you!

Log on to your CRA account. Go to the personal profile page. Under the Marital Status section, there is a "UPDATE" button, click on it will take you to the page where you can change the marriage date.

Thank you. That was the first thing I did and it is not allowed since the date is retrospective.
That’s why I’m looking for other options and someone’s experience.
