How to check total number of days spent in Canada

Is there anywhere to request a day count? I have not kept a count and frequently travel outside the country.

It is actually your job to keep records of your travels but in order to find out what information CBSA has about you, you can order it from them, see http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/agency-agence/reports-rapports/pia-efvp/atip-aiprp/req-dem-priv-eng.html

Their info might however not be complete. Some entries or exits may be missing but it would probably help you piece it together.
