Background:

I am living and working in Canada after graduation. I qualify CEC program for EE.

In two weeks I will have 2 years of Canada working experience, which I only have 1 now.

I tried updating my profile on the website. But it seems like I can modify everything EXCEPT years of experience.

Does anyone know how to do it?

I think that can not be entered directly. It can be computed from the data you entered in the employment history.
Hope you get an ITA soon :)

Unfortunately the points for Work Experience are allotted based on the system recognizing '24 months' of work experience. The flaw is that it gives credit for a whole month of work even if you have only worked one day in the month.

Make sure you have 730 days if work experience.

Off the top of my head, I was thinking about dropping the existing profile and re-entering a new one.

If youre entering exactly the same information as the old profile this will.not help you. The only possible benefit is you may be invited to submit an Expression of Interest for PNP depending on your score and other details in your profile.

I am not sure about this, but I thought when you create a profile, one of the first steps is to enter the number of years of experience you have? At least I remember I did....

Hi Guys,

I was reading the posts. My points are going to increase to 465 once I have 3 years of experience in September 2016.

Meaning that my points will increase automatically on 1st of Septmeber. Correct?

Hmmm... I had not considered this. The thing was in the 'Come To Canada' tool when they asked about Canadian Work Experience, I put 'Less than 1 year' , but when I entered my profile because I couldn't enter the days I started and completed my work Experience I am getting credit for 1 year despite having worked for 348 days (to date).

so, are you saying that if I 'Withdraw' and re-create my profile after 20 December I will get more points than I have now?

My understanding is 1,560 hrs in 12 months. I completed my 1,560 hrs in 10 months as I work 40+ hrs per week. I'm just being cautious because I think a Visa Officer may actually go through and add up the work experience days stated in each job reference letter to ensure it totals at least 365.

I may be wrong though.
