My interview is jst 2 weeks away.. I am taking my wedding album which in itself is 10lbs (4.5 kgs).. printouts of mails, chats, phone records, trips taken together, gifts exchanged receipts and other such documents .. anything that I can find which prooves our genuine relationship.. i don't want to leave any stone unturned

My question is how should I carry all this along with me.. will the visa office allow me to carry a hand bag or a back pack or a cabin bag by any chance to the interview room?
Anybody who has gone through the interview process please tell how did they carry the docs?

Thanks

Great question. I went to Buffalo to present my passport in person (same office and waiting area for persons being interviewed). We were required to check our cell phones at the door, and though I don't specifically remember people carrying boxes of documents, baby strollers, file folders, and handbags were allowed.

Good luck with your interview! Allison

don't know about Buffalo, in Warsaw cell phones and cameras are not allowed to bring in. We didn't know that and had to return back to hotel to leave cell phones there (good thing I booked a hotel close to embassy!!). So be sure to check with them to avoid unnecessary troubles ;)

We had a big fat folder with other additional documents which I nicely organized in sheet protectors. We gave the whole folder to immigration Receptionist(?? not sure if she was just a receptionist??), and after waiting for about half an hour (may be `45 min) my husband was asked to go to see an officer. I was not allowed to follow him. After several questions (as I told in the different post), they asked to provide some more information ASAP. BTW, they returned this folder with the documents.

I saw a person who gave an immigration officer several fat packages with documents (as I've heard it was for several children she is going to accompany during their travel to Canada) - since she couldn't get it through a small opening in the glass window the officer came up and picked up her documents :) LOL

Good luck SCsquare, you'll be fine!!! Just stay positive!!!
