I would like to know what I need to do to cancel my work permit extension?

I have applied for a BOWP (Paper application) last September.

As per processing times, they have started to work on applications received on September 12, 2015.

I just wanna make sure I will get reimbursed before they can go through my application.
I have received the "Ready for Visa"email mid Jan.

Thanks a lot!

You should send a letter of withdrawal, explaining why and adding COPR to same address you sent the application.

Alternatively I guess you can send it by email to the processing center.

I applied online so I sent this letter online to:
https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx
Using "Withdrawal of online applications"

I get some answers in 2 days (just tell me they add a Note to my application explaining I requested withdrawal, when assigned officer will open it, we decide if refund is OK and then will be 8-16 weeks to receive it)

Probably you can do the same using "Temporary Residence (applied by mail). Work Permit option"

Letter should contain all applicants information, including application number (if you don't have it check ECAS),

I successfully cancelled a paper work permit application in 2014.

I emailed question@cic.gc.ca with the details of the permit and reason for cancelling. They acknowledged the email a few days later.

Weeks later I got an email rejecting my application, I replied with the acknowledgement of cancellation email and they changed it from rejected to withdrawn and I got my refund.

After have read other threads I am wondering if CIC could mistakenly withdrawal my PR application instead of my BOWP application?

Is it safer land first and then cancel BOWP?

I didnt do anything, received an e-mail from BOWP people that my BOWP fee will be reimbursed, as i dont need it anymore.
And i got money credited back to my credit card after couple of weeks. :) :)

I read something like that after get COPR and withdraw BOWP.

I was worry for a while but it's a non sense.

If CIC make this mistake then you can easily claim to re-state the PR application with copy of your withdraw letter.

Just be sure to clearly write Withdrawal of BOWP and the right application number, explaining you already got COPR and planning to land soon

Anyways I also read CIC could withdraw your BOWP application automatically after notice you got COPR.

If you want peace of mind wait until landing just in case
