How to calculate 180 days for visitor visa?

Hi, everyone.

My friend is holding visitor visa and entered Canada in the middle of March. After that, he went to travel to US in the beginning of July and went back to Canada in the middle of July. At that time, the Customs didn't stamp on his passport or provide him any documents shows the leave date. Therefore, I'm just wondering if his stay in Canada is calculate from the middle of July or from the middle of March?

They always have everything in the system once they scan the passport. So, July date when he entered is when the 180 days counting begins.

Depends entirely on what CBSA decides. It can be either.

Hi all. I have the same question. Does the visitor have right to stay in Canada more than 6m per year cumulatively? For example can he stay 5m, then leave, and come back again for a few months?
