How to begin canada immigration process from US ?

This is my first time here. We live in US and looking forward to apply for canadian immigration under skilled worker.
Can someone help me with the entire process, incase any of you have step by step procedure with u and would like to share , it will be real help to us. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. bye.

Hi all,
I spoke to laywer in canada. HE said we can apply under skilled worker. (my case in brief: my hubby on L1 in US in IT )

I have a doubt regarding IELTS and police certificates:-

1. When do we submit these 2 docs. Is it initally when we file our application or is it when they request for further docs?
The lawyer said we can start process by just filing application.

2.Do I also need to take up IELTS? ( I might work in canada.)

thanks for the promt reply, I was hoping for the same.

I am not in direct touch with the lawyer, my hubby is dng all talks yet. Lawyer is based out of canada itself.
So you mean to say we only need to submit our application and then wait for the reply from CIU and if asked then only send supporting docs like police cert. ILETS score, medical report etc.

Will shoot more doubts later
