How can I request urgent TRV (Visitor) processing? We had difficulties in finding out how the parent should sign the application of a under 18 applicant, only got to submit the online application yesterday and need passport back with the Visa stamped on it by May 16th.

I have already sent an e-mail explaining the situation to question@cic.gc.ca. Do they answer to urgent processing requests through this e-mail? Is there other way to reach CIC. The phone number 1-888-242-2100 is never answered!

Thanks,

Unfortunately there's no urgent processing available for visitor visas. You just have to submit the application and hope it's processed quickly.

Thanks,

First of all you need a valid reason for the request. What is your reason? As far as I can tell you just had trouble filling out the forms. This is not a valid reason. Can you justify an urgent processing?

Also what country are you from?

But there is (at least for some countries): http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/mexico-mexique/visas/52_4.aspx?lang=eng

I had difficulties in submiting the application, the information on the website is poor and there is no VAC in Columbus at the address indicated at the CIC website. That's how we got to this point.

Then you don't have a valid reason and the emergency request would be denied.

CIC is clear on this: "not planning in advance is not a valid reason". From CICs point of view if you knew your case was complex you should have planned for any difficulty and started working on the application several months before hand to avoid any problems.

SO here is my first post in the forum, and this topic is what i was searching and it led me here. I have applied for tourist visa today and applied under urgency, reasoning is as following: I have moved to USA in april and on dependent F2 visa, the only official identification ID , recognized by United States is my passport. I do not have driving license or state id yet, due to this i am unable to travel or do any recreational activity eg. getting on ferry, travel to near by places, hotel check in, or order a glass of wine outside. Besides my parents are coming after 8 years to visit USA from 7th July till 30th July and as long as i dont have my ID , ie. my passport with me i will not be able to do any of the activities and show them around as well. My elder brothers birthday is also on 24th July for which they have planned a celebration in Canda along with my parents (already have canada visa) with other family close friends. It is certainly not a matter of life and death but i hope you consider this as personal and family emergency.
Attached: Brother's driving license(for dob) and parents itinary (7th- 30th july)
what do you think? will they consider it?

No - definitely not an emergency. Not even close.

I have applied for visitor visa on an urgent basis as my reason of urgency is that my parents went Canada 4 months back but unfortunately my dad passed away there on 2nd of Jan and the cremation has been postponed twice for me.Also my mother is a patient of Alzhiemers disease and because of language barrier she is facing a lot.I had applied on last friday at VAC Vfs global Canada (Delhi office) they said we will send it on urgent basis and made a funeral file. But it was not accepted at High commision of Canada on same day.It was sent as a normal case.Hopefully on humanitarian grounds my application will be considered as an urgent as I need to do the last rituals of my father and bring my mother back to India.

Instead of you trying to apply visa and come to Canada, couldn't someone else take your mom and the cremation back to India?

Sorry for your loss.

This same tactic was successful for at least one poster here who also had to go to Canada following their parent’s death. Looks like they apply it on a case to case basis.

What documents did you submit?
