This may have been asked before, but its hard to find. I need an extension for FBI PCC. One of the threads indicated that we should email CIC. I did that, but received a generic reply after 20 days with a link to their web form.(https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?_ga=1.55995884.618423101.1420837699)

I filled this form, but now I am not sure if this will work.

So, how do I get this extension? My deadline is Aug 25 and I submitted my fingerprints to FBI on June 18th.

I am in a aimilar situation. I still have not got my fingerprint card, have tried nearly all locations listed on myfbireport.com, all police stations are saying that we do not do it anymore. I am in Chicago.
Can you share how you got the fingerprint card done? Canadian government will not accept a fingerprint from third-party so I am not going to them.
Please help

Austin PD takes electronic fingerprints, thats where I did my prints. You can do ink prints yourself, amazon has some ink kits which dont leave ink mark on your fingers.

With ink prints, there is a danger of the fbi rejecting them, so take 5-10 different print sets and mail all of them to be safe.

If you don't get your FBI PCC the end of your submission date then just send the documents without FBI PCC and send a copy of the receipt of fingerprint and copy of the shipment to FBI. Also, Write an explanation letter to CIC in submitted documents that you have requested FBI for your USA PCC and it should come to you 1-3 months as expected.

yes, I mean the tracking of the shipment.

Also, I think there is no way to get an extension without submitting the documents because until the payment is made its all electronic system. Once they receive the file and fees.. than only an officer can make adjustment to file accordingly

I'm not sure that you can do fingerprints by yourself. An official person needs to confirm your identity otherwise you could submit anyone's fingerprints. It needs to be done either in a police station, an official fingerprinting company or an embassy.

Hi there - Just an addition to this topic... I submitted my fingerprints and everything for my PCC months ago (still waiting for for it to arrive) But I'm curious how it is supposed to be submitted with our residency applications (Has anyone out there done this yet?)

The CIC website says that all documents MUST be originals - not photocopies. But it also says that all documents must be submitted electronically. This seems contradictory. So, does that mean that a scanned copy of an original PCC is invalid? Or will that count? I sure as hell would hate to screw this up after everything I've done to apply!

I'm pretty sure it needs to be a scanned version of an original document. I don't see how else you would be able to submit it electronically.

That's what I figured too, but all of this paperwork is a little intimidating when you know if you do one single thing wrong, your whole application is in the bin! Blech.
