How to apply re-entry visa with AIP

My hubby got his AIP and OWP on April 2012 and will expire on April 2013. He got a job that would require to travel to US. He needs to apply for a re-entry visa when travelling to US.

Looking at the application for Canada temporary resident visa, We don't know how to answer the following questions as visiting is not applicable anymore as he has inland sponsorship application:

Details of visit to Canada.
1. Purpose of visit
2. Indicate how long you plan to stay
3. Funds available for my stay - we don't have enough savings but both of us have jobs.
4. Name, address and relationship of any person or institution I will visit.

I hope that someone can help us.

With AIP and a work permit, he does not require an reentry visa if returning from a visit to the USA.

HOWEVER, there is ALWAYS a risk he will be denied reentry. If he is denied, you will need to start from scratch with your application.

It's a bit of a risky move indeed.... because for an inland application your husband is normally required to stay in Canada!! so travelling to the US and risking being denied at the border seems a risky move to me... if you were applying outland that would not be a problem, but with inland, I'm not sure ... maybe some more experienced members can chime in...

What, if any, restrictions are listed on his work permit? On Anna's first work permit, there were certain restrictions such as not being allowed to work with children. On her second work permit all restrictions were removed. My thought was at the time that she had passed the background check and that was why the restrictions were lifted.

I mention this because you need to consider what can be discovered in the second stage process that might get him stopped at the border. Is there anything in his background that might raise a flag? I am from a visa required country and I went to the US and gone back with only my closed work permit, I wasn't being sponsored at the that time though. I think it would be ok but just a slight risk.
