how to apply for OWP?

hi
i have got study permit valid for 2 years to study in canada.. now my husband intends to come and stay with me...
i'd really appreciate if any expert can guide me on the process to apply for open work permit...as my husband is going to apply for TRV which he can get as long as the validity of my visa...but what exactly should he do to apply for open work permit simultaneously? does he need to just mention it in his trv application? (as there is no specific application package available on cic website to apply for open work permit)

looking forward to expert opinion on this matter.

It's the application for WP with no details on the employment. He sends a copy of your student permit together with copy of your marriage certificate.

Thank you for the response and clarification!

I just read different posts on this forum and in most of these, it is mentioned that spousal open work permit can only be applied based on a valid work permit. However, the CIC websites states that the spouse can apply for owp even based on the valid study permit of the partner.
Why this contradicting information is there.. do you have any knowledge about this as well?

A spousal OWP can be applied for with a valid Study Permit as well.
