Hi All,
I am a MSc student, working as a teaching assistant and a research assistant in Canada. My wife lives here with a temporary work permit. In my home country, I worked as a software developer for one year. As I haven’t apply yet, I am wondering how the new rules for skilled professional immigration affect me.
Am I eligible to apply? Was I eligible before the new rule? If I am not eligible now, how can I be one later? The thing is, I am starting my PhD from the next fall and not considering doing a job before finishing it. Will they consider doing teaching assistantship or research assistantship as an arranged job? I am wondering if it is the case that I cannot apply for permanent residenceship until I graduate from the PhD program and get a job, which is almost 4-5 years from now.
thanks.
