How soon before applying for passport?

Hi guys,

how soon were you able to successfully apply for your passport after the oath? I know they quote you 2 business days at the ceremony, but wondering if it's possible for sooner.

I went 24 hours later and was in the system.

The person processing my application did remind me that I was supposed to wait 2 days though

i had posted a similar respose for someone else based on my experience :

1. if oath is on 15th, you can apply for passport on 17th. a trick here is constantly keep checking your application status in cic, the moment anything changes on that information, it means that passport canada has recieved your information and you are good to apply.

Get your documents ready and go directly to Passport Canada. If they can find you in the system then you are good to go. If not the next day.

Thanks guys. I decided not to wait the full 48 hours, but I did go on the second business day and it was ok.

yeah I think usually it is in the system in 24 hours. they just say wait 2 days to be safe (and avoid people calling them after one day wondering why they are not in the system)
