How recent does your police record have to be?

I have a police record from my home country from January of this year, I have not been to the country since, do I still need to get a new police record or will that one suffice?
 
I got my Indian PCC in March 2014. I travelled twice to India from between Jan 2015 & July 2015 (less than 30days visits). Is my PCC valid? Based on the wording I read over the CIC site, I believe my PCC is valid as India is my country of origin and I have not lived in India over 6months during my visit after receiving my PCC.

I also remember seeing somewhere on the CIC site that says The PCC should be issued 3 to 4 months prior to applying for EE and also a PCC is valid only for 1 year. Correct me if I am wrong.

I would also like to know if I need a PCC for Canada ? ( The website clearly states, any country other than Canada,but just want to confirm)

Your Indian PCC is valid.

You don't need a Canadian PCC now. CIC will tell you if and when you need to get one.

I came to Canada in August 2013 and have not been to India since then. Do I need PCC from India? And/or from Canada? I got my PCC done from Canada in January 2015. In case I need PCC from Canada, would the one issued to me in January 2015 suffice? (assuming that I apply by August/September 2015)

You'll need an Indian PCC. Your Canadian PCC won't be valid now. Wait for CIC to ask you to apply for one again.
