Hi Everyone,

My questions is, how much time do we get after the Visa is received via express entry? I know previously, it was up till the medicals were valid. In express entry case, since the medicals are done upfront by the time application is completed there will be hardly 1-2 months remaining for the medicals validity. So how does this work? Do we get a chance to re-do the medicals or must land within the same medical validity?

Anyone with experience, please share.

Thanks,

Its fair and square, prior your medical expires.

Expiration of medicals is the deadline. Exceptions are only granted in exceptional circumstances.

That's why it's a good idea to do the medical just before submission of your application. With the usual processing time of up to six months, you then have another six months to land in Canada.

Can't we get medical again once it gets expired?

As a matter of fact, if your medicals are about to expire before your case is finalized, say in less than 3-6 months, the officer handling your file will request a renewal of your medicals. Medicals then need to be received to finalize your file. In this case you will usually have a year, maximum, to land (this also will depend on the validity of your passport as the visa validity cannot extend beyond than your passport's expiration date). The visa will have an expiration date and that is the last day you will be able to use it to enter Canada to land. Of course, if you are not ready to move, you can always come tom Canada, land and leave to later come back for good before you default on your residency requirement.

Interesting thought, can we go stay for few days and be back?

It would really help, minimum for how long we need to stay ?

No minimum requirement. You can take the next flight back if you want.
