Dear Friends,

Presently I am staying in US. I have got my PR and I need to enter Canada on or before June 30th.

Can I go to Canada before June 30th and stay there for a week and go back to India.

Will that create any problem to re-enter Canada.

Kindly share your solution so that I wont loose my PR status in Canada.

If one week is not sufficient to stay in Canada, how much minimum period do I need to stay in Canada while entering for the first time as a PR.

Minimum period you have to stay after you land in Canada is zero days. You can actually take the next flight back if you want to.

You only need to make sure you spend at least 730 days in Canada in your first 5 years as a PR and every 5 years after that.

Thanks a lot for the reply Leon.

I have one concern here. I came to know that it takes 40 days to get PR card after landing in canada.
If I return from canada without staying for that many days (say zero days) , then how do I re-enter canada.
I mean will they give any kind of temporary card or visa , immediately after landing.

No, they won't give you a temporary card. If you wish to return before you have your PR card, you will have to apply for a Travel Document at a Canadian office overseas. Unless you entering Canada by private vehicle.

I just noticed that, after landing in Canada, I can apply for Permanent card and give the address of my friend (Representative) to collect the PR card, without staying there till I receive the card.

Is this correct !!

If you tell the officer when you land that you will not be staying at your friends address, they will not have the card sent there. Instead they will tell you that they will hold the card until you have an address of your own and then you can tell them what it is. If you say you will be staying at your friends until the card arrives, they will send it there.

And the the friend could courier the card to you -- so that you do not have to apply for a travel document to get back into Canada.
