How much proof is enough? Do we have to send off our FB, whatsapp and Instagram chat histories including what we spoke about?? What exactly do we have to be sending to CIC?
Not sure if we are or not. Have not sent in anything. This process scares me. We are both young (mid-twenties) and this undertaking seems daunting ESP with all the stories out their about simple things causing denial of applicationsmikeymyke said:If youre a red flag case then you should obviously send more proofs
I think it depends on what other proof exists. For example, if you've been married for years, have kids together, file joint tax returns, etc., then they're probably not that bothered about Instagram posts – although it wouldn't do any harm to send that stuff, too. What bureaucratic proof do you have?StormForce said:How much proof is enough? Do we have to send off our FB, whatsapp and Instagram chat histories including what we spoke about?? We are same sex. He currently lives in Canada. When he left I was to go as well but I had just begun to study for my bachelors. didnt want to move and not have a qualification and have to rely on his support for everything. Now we are planning our wedding and after that we have to plan our move but the process scares me more so than him, he's confident everything will be fine. (I'm the pessimist, he's the optimist) just want to be reunited with himDBHC said:I think it depends on what other proof exists. Sounds like you complement each other well! I'd suggest including lots of photos over the entirety of your relationships accompanied with written explanations (when, where, etc). I didn't include phone records and stuff like that as I have lived with my spouse for 15 years, so I can't advise you on how much to include for that – I'm sure others can. Any proof of living together (which is sounds like you did, before he moved to Canada) would be great, such as leases, joint utility bills, etc. Perhaps include stuff from your wedding planning, like quotes from caterers, as proof that you're planning your life together? My philosophy when putting it together was to try and get as many different types of proof as possible.StormForce said:We are same sex. He currently lives in Canada. We can provide lots of that stuff. However, we didn't live together, living together publicly would've invited violence against us. Their home was broken into and vandalized because persons noticed him and I. He lived with his adopted father as his real family disowned him for being gay. I did spend every day I could over there and his adopted father and closest friends can verify all this.DBHC said:Sounds like you complement each other well! That's awful. Hopefully, you'll be able to get into Canada quickly. Where are you applying from? You can check the spreadsheets to see how fast your VO is processing applications. Letters from his adopted father and close friends would be good to include, too.StormForce said:We can provide lots of that stuff. Won't begin the process until we are married but that won't be for another year. Sadly none of our families would attend such a wedding so it will be a very small affair.DBHC said:That's awful.
