I checked the status and it says they started working on my application in November. Just for context, I applied outland and the process is currently sitting with the Canadian Embassy in my home country. I had to resubmit my police background check and then do ANOTHER medical. They have received both of these documents as of 3 weeks ago. My boyfriend is sponsoring me under common-law.

So my question is, how much longer should I expect things to take? I submitted my application 12 months ago and at the time the outland processing time for my country was 10 months.

Thanks!

the fact that you had to resubmit and redo meds means more waiting time.... hang in there, it's impossible to tell how much longer it will take. Check online again as to what the time frame is NOW cause it doesn't matter how long it was when you applied, what matters is what it says NOW. If you're over your wait time, then contact your MP and get them to contact the VO to see what the hold up is.

MP = member of parliament
VO = visa office

I don't quite understand. You are saying to contact my MP here in Argentina and ask them to check with the Visa Office in Buenos Aires about my Canadian PR? When you say MP are you referring to a government representative? Or is this referencing something else?

Your boyfriend would be contacting his MP in Canada.

sorry, yes, your boyfriend would have to contact his MP - if he can go in person that's better - he probably won't speak directly with his MP, but there should be someone there that acts on his behalf. Mine had an assistant who dealt with immigration issues and was very good at handling my questions - and i only communicated with her via email. I had answers from the VO within 5 business days. The MPs don't like contacting the VO's more than once on your behalf, so make sure whatever you need answered is concise.

we redid our medical and it took 3 weeks for the embassy to get the new medical :) but im not sure how long it takes to process a new police check
