Will $2,000 be enough? My approved leave application form will show my yearly ticket entitlement which means, my airfare is borne by the company. I really don't have much that shows in my bank account because it is a non-interest earning account and most of them show my monthly loan payments but I can show the timed deposit certificate which I pulled out from Manila and will transfer here soon at HSBC. I really don't worry about my allowance in Canada because of my brother...thanks much

My proof of funds will be my: Salary Certificate, Timed Deposit Cert, and might purchase traveler's cheques and just few hundred of dollars in bank...Still waiting for that form, thanks much
I had $ 41 000 US in my account and got rejected. so they do not look much into funds, they want to see your ties and proof of your return.

I got my TRV last August 09 here in Canada Consular office in Abu Dhabi.I submitted docs they required and of course you should have at least more than 2K USD in your account. Please ensure that your fund is sufficient enough for your stay plus the invitation from your brother.

1. Bank statement (abu Dhabi + phils)
2. Letter from employer (guarantee letter that you will be back or allowing you to use your yearly vacation in Canada).
3. Photos
4. Copy of your passport + visa
5. Copy of visa (countries you visited)
6. Filled in forms
7. Letter from your brother (responsible for your stay)

You will have your TRV as long as you will have the proper documents and you satisfy the consular officer at the same day upon submitting the application. No interviews at all.

Keep faith UP!

Sure you can, make it a wish for you from a very lonely woman over here in Dxb and I haven't seen my brother for almost 8 years now because every time he go to Manila, I'm out of the country. I just read your msge by the way because I'm a newbie, don't know much yet to navigate the site...I

that's very good to know from you...I pulled out my funds in RCBC, Manila by the way because I'm planning to transfer it here in HSBC to earn more interest and I have spent some of them when I traveled to Egypt last month so more less, I will have around $2K only. I didn't worry much because my brother will provide me everything and my ticket will be provided by my company for yearly ticket entitlement. Will my loan payments showing on my bank account affect my application? It is a non-interest earning account so I really don't maintain any balance on it but will be forced to leave my salary this coming payday just to show them that I have money on it...thanks much for keeping my faith alive...

As Suin has pointed out, you have to show your ties with your country of origin, but in your case since you're an expat working in another country, your country of work (sorry for lack of better term). The officers want to make sure you would want to go back from where you came from once your visit to Canada is over.

Of course we all wanna prove to the Immigration Officer our intent to go back from country of origin, however, most of the stories I read in this sites give me an impression that it is almost impossible to make the IO believe one's intent especially that their basis are merely on the presented documents. My bank statements would show that I have loans here in Dubai and so with all my utility bills and tenancy of contract for my apartment plus I've been in Dubai for almost 2 years working for only one and the same company...will this be enough proof that I have strong ties here in Dubai? This is why I'm so worried about...thanks much everyone for taking time to feed me back....

Just a question though, did you provide them with your round-trip ticket? Did you already travel to Canada? thanks
