How much can I apply online in advance?

Hello everybody,

we live in Germany and we want to apply online for a family visit.

We plan to be from September 2017 till October 2017. Is it to early to send an application now? It´s more than 8 months in advance.

Or is it okay when we determine our duration of stay in the invitation letter and the form, so we can apply now? We would like manage this as soon as possible.

Usually from 2-3 months in advance.
